Introduction

Sewa Parv is a national initiative to celebrate the spirit of Sewa (service) as the truest form of patriotism, contributing to the end goal of VIKSIT BHARAT. Anchored in the Ministry of Culture’s guiding vision “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” (Development as well as Heritage), the initiative seeks to weave together cultural pride with a deep sense of social responsibility.

The Parv serves as a platform where service to the nation finds expression through culture, art, heritage, knowledge sharing, and inclusive community engagement. It will encompass diverse areas such as cultural heritage, women-led progress, care for general health and wellbeing, environmental stewardship, innovation, and empowerment of marginalized communities.

Objectives

The Sewa Parv aims to:

  • Inspire citizens to contribute to the nation through service-oriented cultural activities.
  • Strengthen awareness and pride in India’s heritage, traditions, and contemporary achievements.
  • Foster inclusive participation, with a special focus on youth, women, persons with disabilities, tribal communities, and other marginalized groups.
  • Encourage creative expression, knowledge sharing, and intergenerational learning around themes of national importance.

How to Participate?

Sewa Parv unfolds from 17th September to 2nd October. 2025. Three types of participation is envisaged for Sewa Parv.

Individual Participation

Anyone can be a part of Sewa Parv by creating an artwork on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang’ in any media and material of their choice. Participants are requested to upload the image of their artwork on the link given.

Individuals can also participate in Seva Parv by sharing photos of their ACTS OF SEWA dedicated to the goal of Viksit Bharat.These could be linked but not limited to positive actions linked to domains such as health, environment, culture, science and technology, tribal welfare, innovation, sports, women and child, cleanliness(swachhata), good governance, unity, culture and more.

Individuals can also showcase their artistic tributes during the window of Sewa Parv by creating an artwork on the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat Ke Rang, Kala Ke Sang’ in any media and material of their choice.

Sewa Parv related events and activities are also being organised by different States and Union Territories across India in active partnership with State Akademis, universities, schools, colleges, and cultural institutions. It encompasses diverse areas such as scheme saturation, cultural heritage, women-led progress, health and wellbeing, environmental stewardship, innovation, and empowerment of marginalized communities etc...

Join a Painting Workshop: 75 Locations

A central highlight of the celebrations will be the one-day Painting Workshops being coordinated by the Ministry of Culture at 75 prominent locations across the country during the Sewa Parv 2025. Click Here to Know the 75 Locations (File Size : 38 KB)

These workshops will witness the participation of professional artists, art students, school children, and art enthusiasts in creating artworks on the theme "Seva Parv - Vision of Viksit Bharat".

Eminent jury members will evaluate the artworks, and prizes will be awarded in various categories. Selected works will also be exhibited at premier institutions such as the Lalit Kala Akademi and the National Gallery of Modern Art.
