Eat Right Millets Mela at Mathura held at Uttar Pradesh

The Food Safety and Drug Administration, Mathura organized the Eat Right Millet Mela on March 29th, 2023. The event included a Walkathon to raise awareness about millets, and was attended by Anganwadi workers, NCC, civil defence, school students, and other departments.

Honorable MLA of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly - Govardhan Meghshyam Singh, Baldev Puran Prakash, Mant Rajesh Chaudhary, District President Madhu Sharma, and Dr. Mukesh Aryabandhu inaugurated the event.

During the event, various food items made from Shree Anna, a brand of millets, were displayed by Mathuras prestigious restaurants, sweet stores, and shopkeepers. These food items showcased the versatility of millets and their ability to be used in a wide range of dishes.

Additionally, the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-profit organization, distributed Puff Namkeen and Tehri food made with Bajra to over 10,000 children in government schools in Mathura. This initiative aimed to promote the consumption of millets among children and to educate them about the health benefits of including millets in their diet.

Overall, the "Eat Right Millet Mela" was a successful event that brought together various stakeholders to promote the consumption of millets and raise awareness about their nutritional benefits.
