The Iconic Events Week, held from 17th to 23rd January 2023, was a momentous occasion commemorating both the 75th anniversary of Indias Independence and the 126th Birth Anniversary of the revered freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
During this week-long celebration, numerous events were organized at significant locations associated with Netajis life and work in various states and territories across India. These locations included Manipur, Nagaland, Gujarat, Odisha, West Bengal, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, where Netajis legacy holds particular significance.
The closing ceremony of the Iconic Events Week took place in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This ceremony was especially dedicated to commemorating the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, honoring his immense contributions to Indias freedom struggle.
During the celebration, a special program was held, in which the Prime Minister of India actively participated. One of the highlights of the event was the naming of 21 of the largest unnamed islands in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands after 21 valiant recipients of the Param Vir Chakra, the highest military decoration in India. This noble gesture pays tribute to the heroic acts of these brave souls and showcases the nations gratitude for their exceptional courage and sacrifice.
The Iconic Events Week not only served as a platform to honor Netaji Subhas Chandra Boses legacy but also as an opportunity to reaffirm Indias rich history and its journey toward independence. It highlighted the significant contributions of freedom fighters like Netaji, who played pivotal roles in shaping the nations destiny. The commemorative week was a fitting tribute to the indomitable spirit of India and its leaders, inspiring future generations to continue striving for progress, unity, and prosperity.
Remembering Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 126th Birth anniversary. He was a true patriot who fought for India’s freedom and inspired millions. Honouring his legacy, we celebrate Parakram Diwas as a tribute to his unfathomable courage and valour.
